Objectives
The Submeeting is an event organized by marine robotics researchers from the French Robotics Research Network (GDR Robotique). In 2026, ENSTA welcomes you to its new indoor experimental pool to test your robot prototypes, sensors, and algorithms in a controlled environment without risk of loss.
The Submeeting aims to:
Promote research in autonomous marine robotics.
Test prototypes of robots, sensors, and algorithms.
Organize workshops and feedback sessions.
The Air Sea Test Basin
Outdoor tests for autonomous exploration robots (underwater, surface, aerial, ground…) are often difficult to organize due to weather, safety, and legal constraints. Controlled infrastructures close to real conditions are essential for improving experimental results.
ENSTA’s new pool, planned to open at the end of 2025, has a
20m × 12m surface and a
depth of 6m,
5 m ceiling clearance, large surrounding banks.
The walls allow
GPS signals to pass through
for aerial and surface robots. A mobile walkway and an overhead crane allow easy deployment and recovery of large platforms.
The event is supported by ENSTA, IP Paris, CNRS, Lab-Sticc, IsBlue (France 2030), Gdr-Robotique, Brest-Metropole, Exail, Trinoma, ROV-Expert, ...
